From Resource Directory to Search-Ready Hub

Identika worked with the Fairfax County Department of Economic Initiatives to strengthen Fairfax CORE’s search visibility, technical performance, and user engagement. The objective was not a marketing campaign; it was to make a critical entrepreneur resource hub more discoverable, usable, and scalable.

Technical SEO Under Real Platform Constraints

Identika audited Fairfax CORE for site speed, structure, and Core Web Vitals, identifying and documenting more than 40 issues across broken links, heading structures, assets, scripts, and font delivery. Because the managed platform environment limited direct implementation access, the work paired detailed recommendations with collaboration to troubleshoot performance and analytics issues, including a GA4 “(not set)” reporting error.

A Search Strategy Staff Could Scale

The content strategy was built around Aspiring Entrepreneurs, Small Business Owners, and Business Partner Representatives. Each persona received intent-based keyword clusters, supported by 40+ core keywords per group, an editorial roadmap, and practical templates for metadata, headers, and URLs. Identika also optimized three staff-written blog articles as the new blog section launched.

Performance, Experience, and Outreach

The engagement combined search work with homepage UX improvements, a custom icon library, stronger images, streamlined messaging, and action-oriented CTAs. A seven-part automated email nurture sequence gave new subscribers an accessible, persuasive onboarding path, while two flyer templates and one postcard template gave DEI reusable outreach materials for events, grants, and workshops.
